Is this cover compatible with both the 1103cc and 998cc (V4R) engines?
Yes. This cover is designed to fit the standard V4 wet clutch housing dimensions across the Desmosedici Stradale (Panigale/Streetfighter 23+). For the Granturismo (Multistrada V4) engine platforms the DBK Engine Case (CCDV09) must be purchased and sold separately.
Will the window “cloud” over time?
No. Unlike cheap acrylic imitations, DBK uses a specialized high-temp resin that is resistant to the additives found in modern synthetic motorcycle oils. To maintain clarity, simply wipe with a microfiber cloth and mild soap—avoid abrasive cleaners.
Do I need anything else to complete this look?
While this cover is a standalone replacement, the “exposed” look is most effective when paired with a DBK Pressure Plate (PSF04) and Spring Retainers (SM01). Without these, you will see the standard, unpolished factory clutch components. Also the DBK Slider (SLI04) is recommended for additional protection against accidental damage.
Is installation difficult?
This is a Plug & Play replacement. However, because it involves opening the oil-bath clutch area, the bike must be leaned on its side stand (to prevent oil loss) or the oil must be drained. We recommend a new OEM gasket for a perfect seal.
